I just played Misty Valley: A Cozy Fishing Tale on Steam. I was a little put off at first because I couldn't find a hammer to decorate my grandpa's fish shop, but the atmosphere reminded me of Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing, and it felt like home. 👉 Watch My Gameplay



First Impressions

In this game, you start off inheriting your grandfather’s fisherman’s house, tucked away in this quiet, misty valley. It’s one of those places that instantly feels calm — soft skies and gentle water sounds, that makes you slow down a bit. The game looks beautiful, with that slightly dreamy art style that makes you feel like you’re really living there.

Fishing, Farming & Exploring

The core of Misty Valley is, of course, fishing. Your bait is either bread sold by seller or worms sold by farmers. Bread usually catches crabs, while worms will catch all kinds of fish, such as bass, grouper, sharks, and pufferfish. Some fish are easy to catch, while others are a bit more difficult.

There’s also farming and foraging, which ties nicely into the fishing system. You can grow crops, collect items, and trade with villagers. The markets and NPCs add a nice community feel to the game.



During your exploration, you'll discover a witch's house hidden in the mist. After collecting enough mushrooms, you can craft potions, which cost money. These potions can boost your fishing experience, allowing you to focus more, or give you the chance to catch unique fish, as well as explore other features.

So far, the game feels slow-paced, comfortable, and calming if you just want to relax and play on steam.
